Rosh Hashanah begins on Wednesday evening, September 8, 2010. It marks the beginning of the Jewish year 5771. In the accepted Jewish calendar, 5771 represents the third year in the Sabbatical cycle, but, in the ancient Book of Jubilees, it marks the first year in the Sabbatical cycle. According to Daniel, the seventieth week will occur during a seven-year cycle. So, does this mean that the Tribulation Period lies just ahead of us? Maybe. The very fact that there is a discrepancy in the Jewish calendar brings confusion.

So far this year, 2010, there have been more floods than in 1993. Over the last two years, we have seen flooding on every continent. Floods are happening all over the world and, as of the writing of this article, it has not let up. The relentless flooding may be a fulfillment of Daniel’s prophecy of what would happen just before the onset of the seventieth week — the Tribulation Period. If this is so, they we should look for a war to break out soon.

Recently, retired Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, emarged from years of seclusion to make an apocalyptic statement. He predicted that if the U.S. (which he referred to as “the powerful empire”) doesn’t change its ways, humanity is doomed. The London based Financial Times carried the story. It seems that Castro now relishes the idea of becoming the prophet who stands against what he sees as the evil empire — the United States of America.
Gary writes about the Last Trump, noting that it is the “last” one in relation to the “first” trumpet sounded in the Bible. Furthermore, he suggests that the Last Trump is not necessarily the last one sounded in the Bible. Be sure to read this important study.
