Our
ministry's 30th anniversary is coming up in November. We will be celebrating
30 years of serving our Lord in this worldwide outreach ministry. We are so
thankful to you for helping us reach out to those who want to know more
about the Second Coming of Christ. As the time of His return draws nearer,
there is more to do than ever before. And yet, as of this month, we find
ourselves struggling to cover our current financial obligations. Six months
ago, I was pleased at the response of our many friends. It seemed that the
faltering economy was not going to affect us. Our income was up and we were
meeting our budget. Beginning in April, however, our income began to falter.
As of June 30, we closed our fiscal year in the red. Part of the problem may
have been the summer slump, but simply knowing why we are hurting doesn't
help meet our current budget. Also, July and August did not improve our
situation - at a time when we are remodeling our building and constructing a
new TV studio. We simply did not foresee the
problem, otherwise, we might not have launched these projects at this time.
However, we found carpenters between jobs and got good prices.

There is a simple solution, however,
if our many friends could help a little. It's not like we're
broke, we're just struggling to cover our current shortfall of about
$50,000, plus the cost of our new construction, for which we will need
another $50,000 by the end of September. If 1,000 friends could send an
extra $100 donation - our problem would be solved! Of course, we've never
had 1,000 donations of $100 each (at one time) before. By the way, in times
past, some have sent more, and I pray that if you
can, you will. We received two gifts of $5,000 in July, for which we are so
very grateful!
To
me, $100,000 seems like an enormous amount. Yet, many average American
businesses take in much more than that in a month. Since we do not hold
telethons, we simply are not awash in funds. Please remember that what we do
receive is used to reach a world out there filled with people who need to
hear the wonderful message that Jesus is coming soon. As you know,
television is expensive, but we have managed over the years to keep the
costs down as much as possible. As the old saying goes, we have done so much
with so little, for so long, we're ready to
attempt the impossible with nothing!
Of course, our financial needs do not
end with the close of a month - or of a campaign.
Our
budget is ongoing month after month. For 30 years
now, we have faithfully served our Lord in this ministry. We have seen both
feast and famine - still, the Lord has always supplied our need when we tell
our friends about it. I am confident that this will be the case today as
well. You have been so generous over the years. Please continue to
faithfully support our work. It won't be long until we get to heaven and
hear our Savior say, "Well done!"
