A review of 2009
corresponds with the prophecies in Matthew 24 about wars, diseases,
earthquakes, etc. It was a scary year that surely moved the world toward the
rise of the Antichrist. |

As I read various commentaries on the Book of Enoch, I
kept coming across references to the Book of Jubilees, another ancient
Jewish writing, of which, at least 13 fragments were discovered among the Dead
Sea Scrolls. I obtained the book several months ago, but laid it aside until I
could get a better opportunity to read it. So, in late June, while away for a
few days of vacation, I determined to find out what had so intrigued the rabbis
that they kept several copies of it in their Temple library. |

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev illustrated his call for a
supranational currency to replace the dollar by pulling from his pocket a sample
coin of a "united future world currency." "Here it is," Medvedev told reporters
today in L’Aquila, Italy, after a summit of the Group of Eight nations. "You can
see it and touch it." The coin, which bears the words ‘unity in diversity,’ was
minted in Belgium and presented to the heads of G-8 delegations. |

This month, the second of three total solar eclipses will
occur. The remarkable thing about these three eclipses is that they introduce
the Jewish calendar month of Av. From Tammuz 17 to Av 9,
the Jews observe three weeks of what they call the "Dark Time." It is the
remembrance of God’s punishment for Israel because of their unbelief. Both
Temples were destroyed on Av 9 — Solomon’s in 587 B.C. and Herod’s in
A.D. 70. These solar eclipses may be biblical signs of impending doom for the
world. |

It is a curious coincidence that the existence of modern
Israel parallels the development of nuclear capability in the world. The race
for nuclear supremacy dates back to the early years of the twentieth century,
when Albert Einstein’s famous equation, E=mc2, awakened both the
scientific community and the public to the awesome potential of atomic power. A
tiny amount of mass can produce an enormous quantity of energy. Israel’s secret
weaponry is the stuff of legend. |

On Monday evening at sunset, December 1, 2008, the two
brightest planets, Jupiter and Venus were in conjunction just beneath the
crescent moon. Alan M. MacRoberts, senior editor for Sky & Telescope
magazine said, "The king of the gods is marching closer every day to the goddess
of love." In ancient days, Jupiter was regarded as a sign of the Messiah, and
Venus was His bride. Is this a sign of the coming Bridegroom to fetch His bride?
Plus, Sky & Telescope’s December 2008 issue described the coming solar
eclipse of July 22, 2009 as "The Great Total Eclipse of 2009." Signs in
the heavens? |

Is Creation a series of Divine algorithms? For centuries,
rabbis have maintained that God created the world using the 22 letters of the
Hebrew alphabet. In 1623, Galileo said that the universe was "written in the
language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles and other
geometric figures, without which it is humanly impossible to understand." Today,
they are called "Fractals." |
